Investment Casting Wax

At Investment Casting Supplies Ltd we understand the difference a great quality investment casting wax can make to a finished casting.

We supply a broad spectrum of waxes globally to multiple market sectors from our facility in the UK.

Through continuous improvement and improved process control we continue to deliver outstanding batch to batch consistency that allows us to deliver consistent performance every time.

Wax Overview

Unfilled Wax

Our unfilled investment casting wax has exceptional flow properties due to the particle size distribution and very low ash content.

Filled Wax

Our filled investment casting pattern wax is suitable for the manufacture of a complete range of wax patterns with excellent dimensional results.

Filled Wax PG

Our PG range is ideal for producing larger wax patterns due to its low linear shrinkage to enable improved control.

Reclaimed Wax

We supply high quality reclaimed investment casting wax, suitable for the manufacture of wax patterns and runner systems.

Glue Wax

Our sticky wax provides very strong joints. It reduces the wax pattern and cluster assembly time.

Soluble Wax

We offer a range of soluble wax that provides excellent dimensional accuracy, easy removal and outstanding surface finish.

Dip Seal Wax

Dip Seal wax supports improved performance when used in conjunction with wax sprue and runner systems.

Wax Sprues

We supply a range of wax sprues in several sizes, material compositions, shapes and colours.

Sheet Wax

Our sheet wax is pliable at room temperature, they can be moulded to any shape and easily cut.

Utility Wax

Our utility investment casting wax is used as multipurpose pattern repair wax. Our range includes both hard and soft waxes.

Paraffin Wax

Our Paraffin wax is compatible with most mineral and vegetable wax. They are also compatible with a variety of resins.

Core Prep Wax

Our core prep wax is ideal for core dressing or reinforcement. Core prep wax can be applied by eye droppers or brushes.

Specialty Wax Products

Microcrystalline Wax

Microcrystalline waxes are characterized by the fineness of its crystals in contrast to the larger crystal of paraffin wax. It consists of high molecular weight saturated aliphatic hydrocarbons. It is generally darker, more viscous, denser, tackier and more elastic than paraffin waxes, and has a higher molecular weight and melting point. ICS stocks a variety of Microcrystalline waxes designed for several industrial applications.

Beeswax is a natural sustainable wax produced by honey bees of the genus Apis. Chemically, beeswax consists mainly of esters of fatty acids and various long-chain alcohols. Beeswax has been used for many years within the investment casting process. All the beeswax supplied by ICS is rigorously tested to ensure it meets a very strict criteria to give our customers the upmost confidence in our products and supply chain.

Stearic Acid

Stearic acid, (also called octadecanoic acid) is one of the most common long-chain fatty acids, found in combined form in natural animal and vegetable fats. Stearic acid is a mixture of approximately equal amounts of stearic and palmitic acids and small amounts of oleic acid. It is often employed within the investment casting sector across several applications.
